Many constituents have written to me about the diversity of the school curriculum and how this can be improve and strengthen the depth of our children's education. This is a hugely important issue which has been highlighted further by the recent events of Black Lives Matter. I have written to Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education, to raise the concerns which have been brought forward to me, asking that he review the curriculum with a view to increasing the diversity of education in our schools.
It is important that our young people receive a wide variety breadth of education that accurately reflects UK society and I hope that the Department for Education looks further into this.
