Along with local Conservatives, Mary has been calling for the introduction of one hour's free parking in district centres to encourage people to shop locally and boost local trade.

As many out of town shopping centres offer free parking to shoppers, parking charges are helping to drive people away from our local centres and small businesses.

Free parking would boost local shopping and ensure more money remains within the local economy; supporting our businesses, creating new jobs and revitalising our town centres.

Mary said, "The lack of free parking in our area is a serious problem. Along with local Conservatives, I have been calling for a limited amount of free parking in our district centres to make it easier to shop locally and to support our traders."
