One of my top priorities for Cheadle, Stockport and the Greater Manchester region is to speak out for every possible bit of investment which can be put to use locally and at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse.
Pharmacies are playing an increasingly important role in improving public health, and I want people to know just how much their local pharmacy can do to help them stay well, treat minor conditions, and live longer, healthier lives.
I was pleased that the Government committed £24 million to support Manchester following the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena last year. This includes money for the emergency services, social care, and mental health support.
It was great to visit Stockport Jobcentre to meet such a positive team. Staff told me that they are reaching vulnerable people who they wouldn’t have reached in the past, meaning that long-term issues relating to poverty can begin to be addressed.
