The Prime Minister

Let me reassure you that I take the issues you raise very seriously. The public rightly expect that those in public office conduct themselves with integrity, and it is important that any allegations to the contrary are thoroughly investigated.

Like all ministers, the Prime Minister has a duty to follow the Ministerial Code, which sets out the standards of behaviour for ministers in office, and includes the seven ‘Nolan’ principles of public life, which are the foundations of ethical conduct for public office holders.

The Prime Minister is also committed to repaying the trust placed in us at the last election, and delivering on our core manifesto commitments. This includes securing a deal with the EU, being ahead of schedule in achieving our goal of 20,000 new police officers by 2023, investing record amounts in the NHS, and levelling up our region.
