I was pleased that the Government committed £24 million to support Manchester following the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena last year. This includes money for the emergency services, social care, and mental health support.
It was great to visit Stockport Jobcentre to meet such a positive team. Staff told me that they are reaching vulnerable people who they wouldn’t have reached in the past, meaning that long-term issues relating to poverty can begin to be addressed.
It was lovely to join the Mayor of Stockport Cllr Linda Holt and Bramhall South & Woodford Councillors Mike Hurleston, Brian Bagnall and John McGahan at Light Up Bramhall for a brilliant evening to kick off the festive season.
