I visited Billy’s Lane Allotments today, where it was great to chat to allotment holders about the vines and cider apple trees they have growing in Cheadle Hulme.

Afternoon tea at The Alexandra

I recently had the pleasure of joining the staff and patients of The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle at an afternoon tea party to celebrate its 35th birthday, a significant milestone in the hospital’s history.

Remembrance Day

Today, I joined the pupils, staff and alumni of Stockport Grammar School in observing two minutes silence in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the many freedoms we take for granted today.

Trinity Community Cafe

It was lovely to receive a typical warm welcome today at Trinity Community Café in Cheadle. I enjoyed a good tea, teacake and a chat!

This morning I had a great chat with the staff and pupils ‘Creative Council’ at Gatley Primary School, hearing about their plans for the future.

Homelessness Reduction Bill

Mary Robinson took part in the debate on the Homelessness Reduction Bill, which places a statutory obligation for local authorities to provide advisory services to those at risk of becoming homeless, whilst supporting those who are homeless or sleeping rough.

Protect Our Green Belt!

I have just had sight of a draft plan, the "Greater Manchester Spatial Framework", to develop 225,000 new homes across Greater Manchester over the next 20 years. I am shocked and angry that this draft plan proposes over 8000 houses to be built on precious green belt land in Woodford, Heald Green and Cheadle Hulme.

HS2 in the North West

In October, Mary took part in a debate in Westminster Hall on the importance of continued investment in HS2 and the regional hub at Manchester Airport.
